Phosphate Project Deveopment
KEMWorks recognizes that no two phosphate deposits are exactly alike and that to effectively engineer an operation to a specified deposit, special efforts must be made to maintain control of ore quality at the lowest possible cost. KEMWorks, in its project related work, has introduced novel combinations of traditional equipment to fit site specific and client needs. KEMWorks personnel are familiar with the latest advances in mineral and fertilizer processing technology and have experience in applying this technology in the most cost effective manner. This process development can be done from the early conceptual design stage through pilot plant testing scoping studies, feasibilities, and project implemenation.
Bench and Pilot Plant Testing
KEMWorks offers a well-integrated approach to your project with a team of experts that understands the project and development steps needed. We are familiar with the latest advances in mineral processing and fertilizer technology and can develop a program that can successfully turn bench and pilot plant work into a sound commercial plant design.
Bench Scale Beneficiation Testing
Our lab is used for flexible small scale beneficiation testing. This includes wet and dry grinding, gravity separation, magnetic separation, electrostatic separation, solid-liquid separation, sizing, and flotation. The data obtained from batch scale tests, can be used to scale up to pilot plant testing and flowsheet design.
Beneficiation Pilot Plant
We can design flow sheets from batch scale laboratory data and use this information to design and operate continuous pilot plant tests. The Pilot Plant has extensive inventories of pilot plant equipment which enables it to simulate virtually any flow sheet. Pilot plant testing helps establish design criteria, operating parameters, process efficiency, and economic process feasibility. The pilot plant is often used to provide bulk samples for product evaluation in the marketplace. KEMWorks is skilled at scaling up from pilot plant studies to commercial plant design.
Beneficiation Pilot Plant work be subcontracted to a partner lab under the supervision of KEMWorks.
Phosphoric Acid Pilot Plant
The purpose of the KEMWorks Phosphoric Acid Pilot Plant is to determine the behavior of a phosphate rock under conditions typical of a industrial phosphoric acid plant.
The Pilot Plant can be operated to simulate the three major process routes: dihydrate (DH), hemihydrate (HH) and Hemidihydrate (HDH).
Bench-scale fertilizer and animal feed testing
Bench-scale tests to produce MAP and DAP will determine expected grade and physical characteristics . SSP and TSP tests will also determine acid to rock ratio, rock grind as well as expected grade. Bench-scale tests to produce MAP and DAP will determine expected grade and physical characteristics . SSP and TSP tests will also determine acid to rock ratio, rock grind as well as expected grade.
We can also to do bench-scale tests for related products including animal feed ingredients (mono- and di-calcium phosphate).
Feasibility Studies A staged approach to a project is important because it minimizes the cost, allows the Owner to indentify the technical issues and risks before proceeding with the next phase. Feasibility studies are often characterized by the accuracy of the capital cost estimate produced.
Due Diligence Our staff combines managerial expertise, technical capabilities, and common-sense financial and business knowledge to provide services to assist you determining the soundness of potential company acquisitions.
Expert Witness Our team have represented phosphate clients in depositions and court appearances against contractors, and other suppliers.
