KEMWorks is preparing a TDA feasibility study for the modernization of a fertilizer complex in Uzbekistan. The existing plants using Russian technology are in poor condition and capacity is limited to 375 tpd P2O5. The phosphate is from Kara Tau, Kazakstan and is a very low-grade and difficult phosphate to process. Uzbekistan is planning to produce phosphate from a new mine at Kyzylkum and modernize and increase capacity at the Almalyk site.
The scope includes:
- Sulfuric Acid - including a new 1800 tpd sulfuric acid plant, turbo-generator, cooling tower, water treatment, and sulfur handling.
- Phosphoric Acid - modernization of an existing unit, phosphate unloading, concentration, and acidic water cooling tower.
- MAP - a new 30 tph MAP plant consuming acid made from Kyzylkum phosphate.
- DCP - a new 11 tph DCP plant, including feed acid defluorination facilities.
- Product Storage and Load-out - provides equipment to transfer granular fertilizer product to a new 25 000 ton storage building with reclaim and load-out to wagons.
